Meeting Arrangements

Registration from 9.00 to 9.55 am in the Foyer. Lectures start at 10 am and normally conclude by 4 pm. Lunch is provided between 12.45 and 13.45. Light refreshments are served at registration, mid morning and mid afternoon.

Travel: By Underground or Train

The nearest underground station is Kensington High Street, on the District and Central Lines. Left exit out of the station turn in the direction of Hammersmith. The Commonwealth Institute is around a 10 minute walk away on the opposite side of the road to the underground station. The Institute is recognise by the numerous flags flying outside.

Around a 15 minute walk away is the interchange station of Kensington (Olympia) served by the underground District Line from Earls Court and also Connex services from Bedford (and further north) or East Croydon via Clapham Junction (and further south). The local Silver Link service through Kensington (Olympia), provides a shuttle service between Willesden Junction and Clapham Junction. Fares to this station are considerably cheaper than via a termini station in central London.

Limited daily car parking available at the Commonwealth Institute at £10 (December 1999 fee). Advisable to contact the Institute to reserve a space. Other local car parks are expensive and are marked on the location map.
